FULL TANG is a psychedelic world-rock band based in Boston, MA. Their sound fuses African and Latin American grooves with fuzz rock and roll, creating a high-energy show and unparalleled dance parties for growing crowds since 2009.
Along with their shared interest in these eclectic music genres, the close-knit quartet draws strength from each member’s proficiency with multiple instruments. When the bass player hops on drums, the percussionist picks up the trumpet, the keyboardist grabs the saxophone and all members chime in on vocals, audience members may suspect they’re actually listening to a six or seven-piece band.
This level of musicianship is fortified by a unique chemistry that stems from the foursome’s history as friends, roommates and fellow students, and is often felt by listeners.
After three years, the band will release its debut full-length album, “Intangible,” this fall, funded entirely by the three F’s (family, friends, and fans) through a successful Kickstarter campaign. The collection of songs reflects the varied talents and interests that have defined FULL TANG.
Members of FULL TANG have performed with The Superpowers, Rubblebucket, Debo Band, Cuddle Magic, The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, Blitz the Ambassador, and Khaira Arby at some of the best venues and festivals in North America including: Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Bumbershoot Music Festival, Montreal Jazz Fest, Luminato, Festival International Louisiana, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Festival dete de Quebec, SXSW, Jordan Hall, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center Out of Doors and have shared stages with many from Antibalas to Ty Segall to the Joshua Light Show.
